Jeremy and Sandra Barker Prayer Letter: We've Been Waiting for You!Sandra and I were soul winning at an apartment complex in Shawnee, Oklahoma, when we came by a door that was completely covered with Halloween decorations, and we both noticed the words, “We’ve been waiting for you!” prominently written. I made a comment to Sandra that if someone got saved at that door, to remind me about what was written. A 10-year-old girl named Lela answered the door, and I promptly asked to speak to her mom or dad. She disappeared, and 2 minutes later, her mother Tommi was at the door and obviously getting ready to leave. She was friendly, however, and engaged us both in conversation, also stating that she used to go to the church we were visiting for when she was a little kid. She expressed an interest in possibly coming back, and we wrote down her information. At the bottom of the stairs, we ran into Lionel, and after striking up a conversation, we found that even though he was 44, grew up Baptist, and his dad was a pastor, he wasn’t sure if he was going to Heaven when he died. I showed him from the Scriptures the hope that I had and was overjoyed when he bowed his head to ask Christ to save him. I then found out that he was on his way home and that he and Tommi were a couple. Please pray for this family to get in church and to grow in the Lord.

During the month of October, we were in church 20 days, across 10 different churches, in 7 different states, with 5 of them being Missions Conferences. It was wonderful spending time with some of God’s choicest servants all across this great country. We also had our visa interviews in Atlanta, Georgia; however, as of this writing, it has been over a month without them being approved. Please continue to pray for this and for the correct dates to be placed on the visas. When we went to Nigeria in January of last year, the consulate mistakenly put the start date for our visas as the date of our interview, not the date that we were going to be in the country. This time I stressed that it was important to have the start date be accurate because we are going to be upgrading to a Residency Permit while in Nigeria, which could take a month or more. Lastly, my grandmother passed away on October 5. I wasn’t able to attend the funeral, but it was conducted by Pastor Doug Bray of Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Reidsville, North Carolina, and I’ve heard good things of the service. She is cheering for us now in Heaven, and I’m looking forward to seeing her again one day. Lastly, our daughter Joanna could be born any day now. Please pray for her and Sandra’s health.
