From the start of April to the end of June, we were in 27 churches located in 10 states and 2 countries! Our travels took us all the way down to Longview, Texas, and all the way up to Toronto, Canada. We spent somewhere around 150 hours road-tripping. We’re getting to know the inside of our car really well! We had many wonderful opportunities to share the Gospel and saw several souls come to Christ. In June, we had an especially high increase in support and hit 64% of our goal. One particular week, we had 7 different churches contact us within a 7-day period to say that they had voted to take us on for support! God is so good!
We have recently experienced several divine appointments, but one was uniquely special. While staying with my parents for a couple of days, my dad and I decided to make some visits. We parked in front of an apartment complex, and my dad called the person we were hoping to visit. While he was on the phone, a car pulled up behind us. A young man got out and began unloading his groceries. I jumped out of our car, walked over to him, and handed him a Gospel tract. I asked him about his soul, and he told me that only a few weeks earlier, he had purchased a Bible and was studying it daily. He told me that he had gone to church as a child but hadn’t been back in years. He said he was searching for something but didn’t know what it was. I had an idea of WHO it was! After a few moments, Elijah bowed his head and accepted Christ as his Saviour.
In May, we were a part of a Missions Revival at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Independence, West Virginia. Pastor Craig Johnson is a faithful man of God and was a personal blessing to our family. One of my friends from college, Braden Miller, and his wife Alexis serve on staff there and invited us to be a part of their church’s float in the town’s Memorial Day parade. We had a blast handing out several thousand paper fans with the Gospel printed on them. The church van pulled a trailer that had been decorated by the church members. There were speakers in it that played Sunday school songs while the children sang along. It was incredible to hear people on almost every street joining in as they heard the tunes of their childhood being sung.
We had the opportunity to fly back to North Carolina for a week of Teen Camp at Bailey’s Grove Baptist Church. It was such a special time with friends and loved ones. God worked in an incredible way, and several young people were saved, with many more surrendering to ministry. After teaching high school and working with the teens over the last seven years, it was such an encouragement to see many of them, in their final years of the teen department, preparing to go to Bible college and serve God with their lives. Of course, one of the best parts of camp was the dynamic duo, Ron and Pat, making a final appearance on the stage at camp. You never know what craziness serving the Lord may entail!
Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support! We are so thankful for you!
