Andres and Dora Amoros Prayer Letter: A Great Need for the Gospel Here

My most sincere wishes are that the Lord would continue to use you with power and that your entire church would continue to grow in the love and knowledge of our Saviour.

The great need for the Gospel here in Santo Domingo makes me think of what our Lord said in Matthew 9:37,
“. . . The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.” Since our last letter, we have entered two new sectors to preach the Gospel. The first is the “La Playita” neighborhood about two kilometers from our church. We have won many people for Christ, and we are thinking of starting a church in that place. Please pray that the Lord would continue to manifest Himself with power and that many would continue to be saved.

The other place is the “Barrio 16 de Agosto,” where we started another route. We call it the “walkers’ route” because it is not far from our church. Literally dozens of people have come to know the Lord as their Saviour, and around 20 of these people have attended our church. We reached a family of 5 from Venezuela, and 4 of them are attending regularly. Eli has not been able to attend due to his work
schedule.

I bring those places to your knowledge, because they both have a lot in common, such as a lot of immorality, vices of all kinds, violence, etc. Please pray that the Lord would protect us in these places; they are very dangerous.

Another great blessing for me as a missionary was being able to preach with my young son, Caleb Josías, who is serving the Lord as an evangelist. More than 700 young people were present. The Independent Baptist Evangelist Mission (MEBI) in the Dominican Republic invited us to be the preachers this year for their 2023 Youth Revival. Many walked the aisle consecrating their lives to the Lord, and some walked the aisle to be saved. We praise our God for this opportunity to be used for the edification and salvation of many.

Prayer Requests

1. Please pray for my wife’s health.
2. Pray for protection as we win souls in these neighborhoods: “La Playita” and “Barrio 16 de Agosto.”
3. Pray for the growth of the new believers.

Mis más sinceros deseos son que el Señor, le siga usando con poder, y que toda la iglesia siga creciendo en el amor y el conocimiento de nuestro salvador.

La gran necesidad del evangelio aquí en Santo Domingo, me hace pensar en lo que dijo nuestro Señor, en San Mateo 9:37 y 38 “. . . A la verdad la mies es mucha, mas los obreros pocos.” Desde nuestra última carta hemos entrado en dos nuevos sectores para predicar el evangelio, el primero es el barrio “La Playita” a unos dos kilómetros de nuestra iglesia, hemos ganado a mucha gente para Cristo, estamos pensando empezar una iglesia en ese lugar, favor de orar para que el Señor siga manifestándose con poder y muchos sigan siendo salvos.

El otro lugar es el “Barrio 16 de Agosto” donde empezamos otra ruta, le llamamos la ruta de los caminantes; por cuanto no está lejos de nuestra iglesia, literalmente decenas de personas han conocido al Señor, como su salvador en este lugar, alrededor de 20 personas han asistido a nuestra iglesia. Alcanzamos a una familia de Venezuela, de los cinco integrantes de esa familia, cuatro están asistiendo regularmente. Eli, no ha podido asistir por el horario de su trabajo.

Traigo esos lugares a su conocimiento, porque ambos tienen mucho en común, como mucha inmoralidad, vicios de toda clase, violencia, etc. Por favor de orar para que el Señor nos proteja en esos lugares, son muy peligrosos.

Otra gran bendición para mí como misionero fue poder estar predicando junto a mi hijo pequeño Caleb Josías, quien está sirviendo al Señor como evangelista, más de 700 jóvenes estuvieron presentes. La Misión Evangelizadora Bautista Independiente (MEBI) en la Republica Dominicana, nos invito para que fuéramos los predicadores este año, en su conferencia juvenil de avivamiento 2023, muchos caminaron al altar consagrando su vida al Señor y algunos para ser salvos. Alabamos a nuestro Dios por esta oportuni-
dad de ser usados para edificación y salvación de muchos.

Peticiones de Oración

1. Favor orar por la salud de mi esposa.
2. Orar por protección mientras ganamos almas en los sectores: “La Playita” y el “Barrio 16 de Agosto.”
3. Por la firmeza de los nuevos creyentes.
