Thank you so much for being such great partners with our family and with our ministry here. When I look back at what God did throughout the last year, I am filled with thanksgiving, and I am humbled by your investment in reaching Brazilian souls with the Gospel. We are in the midst of summer here in the northeast of Brazil. Praise the Lord, we have continued to see people getting saved, our attendances have been trending upward, and we have seen clear signs of maturation here in Northeast Baptist Church. I would like to give you just a quick review of the results of 2022.
Over the course of the year, we held an Evangelistic Conference and our Missions Conference. We had our Family Month last May and our first Spring Campaign during your fall season. We had both a summertime and wintertime VBS for multiple days, along with a special day for Children’s Day here. We had our yearly Christmas outreach, with a live nativity and a special candlelight service for Christmas. For the year, we saw several hundred salvation decisions, had 15 baptized, put over 20 people through our discipleship program, welcomed nearly 300 first-time visitors to a service, and saw the church pledge close to US$200 to support church-planting mission works. Thank you for having a part in this. To God be the glory!
The new year has already been a busy one. January was our Stewardship Month, and I believe the Lord really used it. This month, February, is our month of evangelism, with a special emphasis on equipping our people to share the Gospel personally with those around them. At the end of the month, we will have a three-day Evangelistic Conference, with a clear Gospel message being preached each night. Missionary Ed Johnson from down in São Paulo will be our speaker.
Please pray for souls to be saved throughout the month, for our people to have boldness, and for the Lord to build them and strengthen them as soul winners. We would appreciate your prayers for our family as well, as we are experiencing some nagging health issues—nothing major, just stuff that must be dealt with for Cynthia and a couple of our girls to be at full strength.
We love you, and we thank the Lord for allowing us to be your representatives here in the northeast of Brazil. God bless you.
Declaring His glory,
Wesley Palla
