In our June 2022 update, we wrote about a survey trip that some of our pastors made to the town of Sogakope, with the hopes of starting a church there. This town is eight hours away in the Volta Region. The response of the people was great, and important connections were made with influential people in the town. In December, Pastor Christian Gafatsi and our staff evangelist and church planter, Pastor Otchere Boachie, made another trip to Sogakope. They found a place for Pastor Christian and his family to stay, and we rented it for them. Also during this second trip, one of their converts gave them permission to construct a temporary structure on his property for the church to meet.
Then, for the last three weeks, Pastor Otchere Boachie and Pastor Michael Naab joined Pastor Christian in Sogakope to assist with soul winning, discipleship, and the launching of this new church plant.
Here are pictures from the last three weeks that show the beginnings of this new church:
We thank God for this new church plant. Please pray for these new members to be faithful, to be strong in the faith, and to grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you very much for your prayers and support!
Our team family-in-focus this month is the Christiansens. Please take time to read their latest update and pray for them.

- Pastor Michael Naab preached the Gospel to the children, and about 30 of them trusted Christ for salvation.
- The team was allowed to preach in the Sogakope Government School; about 60 students trusted Christ for salvation.
- There were 57 in attendance for the second Sunday.
- Pastor Christian and his wife Beauty stand with those who have decided to make this their church. Some of the women request prayer that their husbands and relatives would join the church also.
