How great is our God! The year 2015 ended wonderfully. Our Christmas Party Sunday saw several people saved and baptized, and then we had our first-ever Watch-Night Service. Our folks had a wonderful time with skits, music, and the introduction to our theme for 2016. International Baptist Church, through her ministries, saw more than 6,645 souls saved, with 194 baptisms, last year. We are humbled that God would use us in such a great way. Please continue to pray for the harvest of souls here. Already in 2016 we’ve seen 1,194 souls saved and 78 baptized. To God be the glory!
International Baptist Church at Dumaguete celebrated her 5th anniversary on Sunday, January 24, 2016. We prayed and prepared and were blown away by the incredible day we had. We had prepared to have 500 in the morning service. We rented extra chairs and set up a 30’x60’ tent on the property for the children’s service. We advertised with fliers on our routes and soul-winning ministries inviting people to come and enjoy lechon baboy (roasted pig) after the service.
Our auditorium was filled to capacity, and we had the overflow crowd in our high school classroom, watching on a television screen. We had many children meeting under the tent at the same time. Our total attendance for the morning was 603! Through personal soul winning, 96 children received Christ during the service. All in all, there were 171 saved through personal soul winning in the morning service, with 46 baptized! Two more were baptized in the afternoon service.
Words cannot express fully what God is doing here in Dumaguete. We’ve had so much happen, and God continues to show up week after week. We’ve had many visitors who just show up at the church, and we’re seeing many start to come more faithfully to the services. We’re excited about the future as we focus on doing more works this year. Our theme is “Work the Works,” with a sub-theme of “A Church That Works.” We are striving to get more done by getting more people involved in the work of the ministry.
We just had Bro. Darrell Bolton and his wife Joanie as our guests in February. These wonderful servants of God were a blessing to us and helped us as we had our first service at the local jail. We are beginning weekly services there now and pray that God will use us to bring the Gospel and discipleship to those men and women who need someone to care about them.
Thank you for the support in prayer and finances that you continue to give. We’d love for you to be able to come and see what God is doing.
Prayer Requests
1. Health of Mrs. Scott Christiansen: She continues her battle with cancer—it has been wonderful to have her in church for the morning services. Already we’ve seen souls saved because of her situation.
2. Property: We’re asking the Lord to provide a property that the church could own and build on for her future.
3. More Transportation: We could use additional pedicabs and a jeepney to get people to/from church and for other ministry use.
4. Vacation Bible School: We’ll be conducting VBS in April and are preparing for a great number of children to be reached through the efforts of our people.
That all the world may know,
