It is such a joy to watch young people, whom we have helped to train, grow up and continue to seek the Lord’s will for their lives. Recently we had the privilege of taking part in the marriages of two young couples in our church. All of these were just young people when we came here and began working with the teenagers. One of the young ladies was reached through the Public School Ministry where my wife and I taught. Please pray for these couples, Yohana & Amina John and Emmanuel & Melina Masebu, as they continue to serve the Lord together with us.
In May we held our annual ladies’ meeting. The Lord blessed with 232 in attendance, with 41 accepting Christ as their Saviour. Our theme was “A Spiritual Makeover.” The lesson, taught by a visiting missionary wife, was centered around placing emphasis on the inner beauty. The ladies were strengthened and encouraged by this special day. Please pray that many of the visitors will continue to come to church as a result of this day.
A new ministry that has recently been started is our University Ministry. Amani Dissi, one of our men on staff, is heading up this ministry. The kickoff to this ministry was a one-day seminar. We were blessed to see 160 university students in attendance; 43 of these young adults trusted Christ during this seminar. Please pray for this new ministry.
Just prior to Father’s Day was our men’s meeting. Over 50 men attended this meeting. What a time of refreshment and encouragement it was for the men of our church, as well as many visitors! Several men were saved as a result of this meeting. As in many cultures, men who are willing to be spiritual leaders of their homes are greatly lacking here. Our prayer is that we will see many men rise up to be godly leaders.
We just finished our week of Teen Camp. What an exciting time this always is! Over 70 of our young people attended camp. It was a wonderful time of games and fun, as well as spiritual strengthening. Many decisions were made to serve the Lord. The last night we had a campfire. I had encouraged the young people to write some of the bad decisions they had made in the past and to throw them in the fire. Please pray for these young people; pray that the decisions they made at camp will continue with them.
Please be in prayer for our upcoming Farm Fair. Once again, we will have a plot of land where we will be witnessing to people, as well as inviting them to our church. Each year we hand out thousands of Gospel tracts and have the opportunity of talk to hundreds of people. Please pray that God’s hand of blessing will be on this tremendous opportunity.
We are pleased to announce the arrival of our third child. Andrew Brooks Wyatt was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on June 20. Both Rachel and Andrew are doing great. Please pray for this new little life that has been entrusted to us.
