So much has taken place here in Tanzania over the past couple of months! We were so blessed to hold the ordination service for Bro. Nyogoto. Bro. Nyogoto will be the pastor of the Faith Baptist Church of Kigoma. In September we will be traveling to the village where he will be starting the church about 15 hours north of us. Outdoor evangelistic meetings will be held leading up to the grand opening of the church. Please keep this work in your prayers. The church will officially start on September 20.
In July, we held a men’s meeting in a neighborhood in our city. It was a blessing to have Bro. Deke Morrow visiting with us. He spoke on biblical principles for running a business. Several men accepted Christ as their Saviour at this meeting.
God has blessed us in bringing people to co-laborer with us. Montana Morrow from Iowa, a senior at Hyles-Anderson College, spent nearly three months helping out in the ministry. Robert James, a high school senior from New Jersey, was also here for a month. Both of these young men were a tremendous help to me personally and to our ministry here. They had great spirits and spent countless hours working on projects around the church, as well as helping in schools, Bible Clubs, the orphanage, and other outreaches.
Our church had a “mini camp” for our teens. What a great time of fellowship they had! They were challenged by great messages from our staff. Hearts were touched, and many decisions were made. Please keep these teenagers in your prayers. They are our future!
John Hays with Pure Water for Life was here with us for a couple of weeks. We were able to do two village outreaches. We held an open-air meeting where we talked about water and the need for clean water. We also shared about Jesus, the Water of Life. We praise the Lord for the people who accepted both the clean water, as well as the Water of Life! Pure Water for Life Foundation donated two water-filtration systems to these villages. What a tremendous testimony this was!
Once again, we held our annual Soccer Sunday. There were over 900 people in attendance, with over 170 people accepting Christ as their personal Saviour.
Many of you have seen the update video of the Crusade. There were over 5,000 in attendance, with over 670 professing faith in Christ. I am so proud of our church members, as well as Pastor Joseph Brown and a group visiting from the Marion Avenue Baptist Church. Their hard work and dedication were humbling to me. Many of our men came to the all-night prayer meeting for the crusade. What an awesome experience it was to hear men spread out across the field lifting their voices, some in English and some in Swahili, begging God to do mighty things. After the crusade, both professional soccer teams attended church the following day. If you did not receive the video update from the crusade but would like to, please contact us.
In an amazing way, God has opened the door to host another Stadium Crusade for 2016. Please be in prayer, as plans have already begun for next year!
The first of August, we spent two days at our Farm Fair, sharing Christ with those who would listen. We praise the Lord for those who accepted Christ as their Saviour.
Thank you for your continual prayers and support.
