Since our last prayer letter, our days have been filled with both mountaintops and valleys. We would like to share a few of these with you.
First, we were so blessed that the container filled with 150,000 John & Romans Bibles, 150,000 tracts, and the radio tower arrived in Tanzania safely. We have already begun distributing these Bibles and tracts and are thrilled at the responses that we are receiving from them. We pray that the Lord will continue to use these tools in His hand to reach many for Him.
Just about a month before we were to leave for our furlough, my wife came home one day to find that our home had been broken into and we had been robbed. The thief took several phones, some electronics, and cash.
On Tuesday of that same week, the landlord of the house that we have lived in for the past 5½ years told us that she needed the house and we would need to move. We began immediately searching for a new home to move into, knowing that we would need to move before we left for furlough. The Lord miraculously provided by letting us find a home right around the corner from the church. This new home will end up being better in many ways, and we are so thankful for the Lord’s directing hand. It is also in a safer situation. We were able to move in and get partially settled before we left for furlough.
As we look over the past year, we are thankful for God’s hand of protection on our church. We have averaged over 230 people in attendance for Sundays, as well as had over 1,500 people saved throughout the year.
We traveled home to the States the beginning of December and were able to enjoy a wonderful Christmas season with Rachel’s family and our home church in Iowa. It is taking us awhile to get adjusted to the cold weather, but we are enjoying the snow!
For the next 3½ months, we will be traveling to report to many of our supporting churches. We have already been so blessed by some great meetings and reunions with supporters. We are so excited for the future of missions after having met several young people who are very serious about missions. We are praying for these young people and are excited to see how we can help in their preparation for service on the mission field.
We thank the Lord for another church that has invested in the Reached by Radio project. They so generously gave over $2,000 toward our goal of starting the radio station in Tanzania. We are praying that the Lord will continue to provide the remaining finances so that we can hit this project full force when we return to Tanzania in April.
Please continue to pray for us and for traveling mercies. We have many miles to travel with our three small children.
Your representatives to Tanzania,
Jerry & Rachel Wyatt
