Greetings from our “motor home” to you and yours. April and May were busy months for us. Our children and grandchildren from Rwanda, Africa, arrived at Chicago O’Hare Airport on April 24. We picked them up in a—would you believe—church bus! Then three days later, my wife’s 93-year-old mother had to go to the hospital, so Jary Lynn flew to Omaha to be with her. In the meantime, I took Gregg and Angel’s two oldest boys with me to help churches.
Two Dear Pastor Friends
Pastor Gary Dice of Pittsfield, Illinois, and Pastor Lyle Dye of Battle Creek, Michigan, are both recovering after major heart surgeries. God heard the many prayers for them. He is bringing them back to health. Praise His name! As Pastor Dice always says, “God is good, all the time! Please continue to pray for them.
God Never Loses Track
While we were visiting bus families in Tampa, Florida, in February, the bus captain introduced me to Heather, a mother of some bus kids. I asked her if she had gone to church when she was younger. She said, “Yes.” She had been a bus kid at Lewis Avenue Baptist Church in Temperance, Michigan, and she had trusted Jesus as her own personal Saviour and been baptized when she was there. Now, fast forward to April when we were helping work on buses at Lewis Avenue Baptist Church. I mentioned her name to Pastor Steve Hobbins. He remembered that years ago, when he was a teenage bus captain, she had been one of his bus riders. He was very happy for her. We may lose track of them, but God never loses track of them! He has a plan for every little bus kid’s life!
Bus Fixed Over the Phone
I received a call from Pastor Roger’s bus mechanic at Berean Baptist Church during their Vacation Bible School. He said the bus was dying, and he gave me all the symptoms. Then with God’s help, we diagnosed the problem for him. Brother Hollins was then able to fix the bus in time to pick up the children for the rest of Bible school.
Sharing the Gospel
In Columbus, Ohio, while we were soul winning with Anchor Baptist Church, we met Tiffany. She had already been invited to Bible Baptist Church of Grove City for that Sunday. We proceeded to tell her the good news of the Gospel, and she sweetly bowed her head and trusted the Lord as her own personal Saviour. We told her that we didn’t want to take her away from Bible Baptist Church and that she should let Pastor Slabaugh know that she had just received Christ. We assured her that he would be happy with her decision to trust Christ.
Your faith in “Keep the Buses Rolling” is so appreciated. We are thankful for your prayers for us. Our main prayer request is that, with God’s help, we can reach many more bus families while we can. To those of you who have partnered with us to help the bus ministries across the country, we thank you for your faithful support and prayers.
Our churches are in need of more CDL drivers, more bus mechanics, more bus workers, more Sunday school teachers, and more Junior Church workers. “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” (Ezekiel 22:30) God, please help us to stand in the gap!
Yours for souls,
Warren & Jary Lynn Storm
