Walter and Suni Poole Prayer Letter: Busy About Our Father's BusinessThe traditional wet season has arrived and with it, the cooling rains. Farmers are busy planting their fields, and we must be busy with our Father’s business. Thank you for your sacrifice, which enables us to plant and reap souls for the Saviour.

I want to mention two recent salvations, Heng and Cheseda. Heng is quick to learn the Bible lessons and memorize the verses. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding, he stopped coming. Please pray for this situation. Chesada is a bit older and is very shy. We are trying to encourage him to come regularly.

Straight Road Baptist Church continues to be the focus of our ministry. The church is the pillar and ground of the truth, where the Gospel is preached to the unsaved and doctrine is taught to the saved. We meet Sunday morning, Sunday night, and one midweek night. Those who attend all three services faithfully will understand correct salvation, correct Bible doctrine, Christian living, and how to reach the lost.

Our new location has been a tremendous blessing. The building is bigger, with three rooms useful for divided Sunday school classes. The outside property allows space for activities, which was not possible in the previous site. We built a cement and brick pool, which can serve as a baptismal tank and a place for swimming. The pool has become very well used by the children and teens and undoubtedly has encouraged church attendance.

We have seen a whole new crop of young people who just love to hang around instead of rushing home after church is done. This gives us an opportunity to deal with some about salvation and teach other topics in an informal way. Let me introduce you to some of the excited youth who come to our church:

• Dodo, the only Christian in his family, speaks fluent English and sings well.
• Rosa is saved and has a remarkable ability to memorize Scripture on the spot.
• Rotanak, who still has connections with a Mormon church, is not yet saved.
• Seyla has a simple faith in the Lord, but we are not sure if she has saving faith.
• Jimmy is new; very soon, I will be talking to him about salvation.
• Riya and her grandmother are new and have a previous church background.

These, along with many others not mentioned, are the future of our church. Pray for us to catch their hearts before they are hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

One of our best friends has been a Cambodian American lady named Ms. Soline Brown. She attends Rochester Baptist Church in Minnesota. She came this April with gifts for the church children and gave her testimony to a full house with many visitors. After that, she went to the provinces and distributed many hundreds of tracts from our church.

This seems to be the year for Cambodian Americans from supporting churches back in the U.S. to visit us. The Yim family, from First Baptist Church of Long Beach, California, came here to see family members. They invited us to share the Gospel in a distant province where their relatives live. After the preaching, we discussed future opportunities for outreach in even more remote areas.

In closing, I have two final prayer requests:

• Our most faithful adult member has lived for many years with a drunkard husband. Only the Lord knows what she has endured, yet she continues to be faithful and testifies of God’s grace in her life. Her husband made a profession of faith several years back, but his life does not reflect that, although he has attended church for the last three weeks. Will you put her on your priority prayer list?
• Our children are thinking about their future educational plans. The next six months are critical for making some life- changing decisions. Please pray for wisdom.

Sincerely,

Walter Poole & Family
