“I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.” (Psalm 108:3-4)
I praise the Lord that in the midst of turbulence, many souls were saved, and people followed the Lord in believer’s baptism. We rejoice in His mercy and care of us through you, our prayer warriors and supporters.
Our work permits were due in April and turned in on time. At the end of May, the rejection letter was given. We are allowed to appeal, so we did.
Our appeal was rejected in July, and we were brought in front of a panel of people in the Home Affairs Office. The chairman of the panel was quite hostile, threatening to arrest us. The man next to her was the same, threatening my wife for teaching Sunday school and leading ladies’ prayer time without a work permit. They accused her of running a creche (“daycare”) because of our work with the vulnerable and handicapped children in our house. We were given 30 days to leave the country.
God is above all and delivers those who fear Him from all troubles (Psalm 34:6-7). We are out of Namibia as of August 9, flying into Johannesburg for Jamie’s immigration visa. They said it has to be done before entering the United States, and they do not have the ability to do them at the U.S. Embassy in Namibia.
Prayer Requests
(1) For wisdom and strength for Justino, as he is my assistant pastor, (2) for Tymore to help Justino in the work, (3) for Idid and Alfred, as they are all studying for the ministry, (4) for the church as a whole to adjust to all of the changes, and (5) for the children who were in our care to adjust and for their caregivers.
