God is so good! Josh Zacharias, the missionary who wants to start the church in Footscray, upped our timetable, so we started canvassing the area in June. We have had the Hallmarks with us for almost two months now. They are missionaries in Canada, and they are planning to be missionary helpers like Laura and I are. Bro. Hallmark is 72 and planning on resigning his church when they get back to Canada and beginning a new chapter as American missionaries. Please pray for us as we continue to canvass Footscray with Bro. Zacharias and help get the church planted there.
We recently had a lady named Aileen move into a newly built senior-care facility. While Laura and I were visiting her, I saw a nice area where they had set up a chapel. We have been trying to get into the local nursing homes for several years, so I thought I would ask if they needed a volunteer chaplain. To my surprise and joy, the activities coordinator, Samantha, was ecstatic about us starting a chapel service. She was very positive about people coming to know the Lord and was surprised that none of the local churches were willing to come and have services except the Catholics, who would come and have a mass every three months. It was as if she was saying, “What must I do for you to start, and when can you come?”
So, we started having services every Thursday at 2:00 p.m. I was so overjoyed the first week, but no one showed up. Aileen, the lady from our church, had a doctor’s appointment, so I sat in the chapel and waited and prayed. Samantha walked in after 15 minutes and asked if I would be willing to go door to door to meet and talk to people. This is a huge miracle that I want everyone to know about because to have free reign in an aged-care facility is unheard of in Australia. In the first week, I knocked 15 doors in an hour and a half, gave out several tracts, and was able to witness to several people. Please pray for this new ministry.
I would like you to continue to pray for the prison ministry, especially for my friend Geoff, an aboriginal fellow. He plans to move back to Moe when he is released at the beginning of 2026. He is supposed to come to Calvary Baptist Church, and needs to get saved and baptized. Also, please pray for Chima, who will be released in August and immediately deported back to Nigeria, to get into Missionary Mark Holmes’ church there. I would also ask for prayer for a man named Melton; he is from Vanuatu and has been coming consistently to the Bible study. Please pray for more to be saved and for safety in the prisons.
Sincerely,
Ron Back
