Last month, we were finally able to put tiles on the floor of our church building. Faith Baptist Church of Eden, New York, gave us $3,000 to buy the tiles; our church paid for the labor and the extra materials. It makes the building less dusty, and it makes it look so much nicer. The platform and outside lighting are the last major projects we need to do to complete the church. Thank God for His provision and faithfulness to us.
God continues to bless our soul-winning efforts; people get saved every week. Last week I had the joy of baptizing two more of our converts. One of them was Elda, a single young lady who has been coming to church faithfully this past year. She has many family problems. Her uncle was killed recently, and her family was threatened. I am not sure of all the details of why the hatred towards her family, but I am glad that our church can be a blessing to her. As D.L. Moody once said, “The church is a garden in the middle of a jungle.” Thank God for Heaven where we will not fear anything or anybody anymore.
As my sons have gotten older, they have been able to participate more in Saturday visitation, in teaching the Bible Club and Sunday school children, and in playing the music for our Sunday congregation. This year will be the last year that our oldest son Juan will be with us; he has just graduated from high school. Since he graduated one year early, we will be having him stay home one more year where he will be taking online classes to earn some credits before going to Bible college next September.
The last few months have been difficult ones for me health-wise. My knees, hips, shoulders, wrists, and knuckles were in so much pain that I could barely walk. I visited different doctors, which reminded me of Mark 5:26, “And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.” Thankfully, over the last few weeks, I have gotten better and am able to do more. Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support.
Truly,
Osmin Gutierrez
