The time has come again to brag on God and how He has been providing for us here in Tanzania. These past few months have brought big change to us, but we are excited and eager to start this new chapter in our lives.
In July I had the wonderful opportunity to go to Kenya and speak at a pastors’ conference, along with other missionaries from America. The conference was July 1-3. We had plenty of opportunities to go soul winning and to disciple. We invited people every night. Throughout the conference we had 1,100 people in attendance, with 250 saved and 76 pastors attending the seminar. While I was at this conference, Teen Camp was also going on. The theme was “Choices,” and there were 73 teens in attendance.
We had our first service at Grace Baptist Church on August 10 in an area called Kihonda, which is still in the Morogoro region. Every day we went out to invite folks to church and to let them know that a church was here. We passed out 1,000-plus invitations. Our first Sunday, we had 148 people in attendance. We also had lunch on the grounds for that first day. We are renting a building for the time being. As we grow, we are praying that the Lord will lead us to the right property to buy for a permanent place. We have a midweek service on Thursdays, and every time thus far, we have had visitors. We are excited to see this new church plant. We are trusting in the Lord as we do our part for Him to bring the increase.
I was home one day and heard a knock at our gate. I went out, and a lady asked if she could speak with my wife. I told her that my wife was still leaning Swahili and asked how I could help her. She said she was looking for help, and the folks in the neighborhood told her to come ask my wife. To make a long story short, I was able to lead her to the Lord and assured her that this was the best help that she could get.
We do appreciate so much your love and support for our family and the folks here in Tanzania. If you ever want to visit us, we encourage you to do so. We would be honored to have you.
Please pray for:
• The growth of GBC.
• Our need of a 15-passenger van ($14,000).
• Wisdom.
• The growth of new converts.
• Land.
Thanks again for allowing us to be here. We love you all.
Your missionary representatives,
Mshama, Martha, & Esther Kinyonga
