“I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee . . . .”
(Daniel 2:23)
I was reminded by a recent plumbing incident how often I do not have the wisdom or the strength to deal with the problems that come into my life. If it was not for God’s help, we would all be in a most desperate and hopeless situation, but our God is faithful and good. He gives wisdom to those in need. He gives strength to those who are weak. He gives guidance to those who are lost. Praise the Lord for His goodness to us!
We have had a blessed couple of months. One blessing was that the paperwork I had submitted to an American government office reappeared after a six-week post office detour. Just when I thought I was going to need to start the whole process all over again, it showed up. Praise the Lord! This particular document is the one that is most likely going to get us back into China. We are just starting to jump through the hoops to see when we can return to China. Please keep this process in prayer.
Another blessing is how the Lord, once again, put us in the right place at the right time to accomplish His work. Altogether, our family was able to see 12 folks get saved over about 5 weeks. One particular day, while the teens and I were out soul winning, P___ decided that she and Mom needed to go tell people about Jesus at the park. She was very determined that it was not to play, but to give the Gospel, so off they went. Not too long after they got to the park, S___ was able to start a conversation with a couple there. After giving them the Gospel, they both decided to accept Christ as their Saviour!
I also want to say thank you for all the prayers for and the letters to E___! Those were a blessing also! She is doing well. I appreciate all those who found an opportunity to send her a letter. I had to laugh when she asked me if I had said anything to our supporting churches. She said, “I keep getting letters from people saying they are praying for me and trying to encourage me.” Thank you so much for caring for our daughter.
We are now blessed to be a part of some Missions Conferences at several great churches in the Southwest. We will be going through Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, and anywhere else the Lord wants to lead us this fall. Please be in prayer that we will raise the last 10-20% of our support before next summer.
Bound to His service,
