“Fret not thyself because of evildoers . . . Rest in the LORD . . . .” (Psalm 37:1 & 7)
Welcome to 2022! First of all, I’d like to say thank you to all our supporters who made 2021 a great year! Because of your faithfulness, we are looking at the home stretch of support raising. Lord willing, we will be able to get our visas this year and head back to China. I feel as though I have been saying that since 2019, but the Lord has had detours for us to take on our way back to the field. One thing we know for sure is that His ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. His wisdom far exceeds mine, and He not only knows the answers for today, but completely understands the problems and solutions of tomorrow’s tomorrow’s tomorrow!
My spirit is repeatedly calmed at the remembrance of the command to “Fret not thyself because of evildoers.” Though the world fall apart, I know I can follow God’s command and trust that He will guide me to the end. I fail, but He never fails. So, on Saturday, December 11, as I was in Chicago following His command to go soul winning, I was asking God to lead me to those who needed to hear the truth. I had a couple people say “No,” but then I met Tayshawn. I gave him a tract and asked him if I could talk to him about Heaven. He readily agreed, and a few minutes later, he bowed his head and asked Jesus into his heart! Hallelujah! I finished inviting him to church and walked a few more steps. I was praising God in a song when Marcus caught my attention. He was waiting at a bus stop. I know how this goes, I thought. The bus undoubtedly comes in the middle and whisks off the one who needs to hear . . . but the Lord doesn’t work according to my ideas. I went and gave Marcus a tract and asked him if I could tell him more while he waited on his bus. Marcus readily agreed, and I explained God’s amazing plan of salvation. A bus came, and I was worried, but Marcus indicated that there’d be another bus if his went by. He wanted to hear the rest of the story! I finished and asked Marcus if he wanted to pray. He happily bowed his head and asked Christ to save him! Fret not, Christian! Rest in the Lord!
