Missionary #6004 Prayer Letter: Another Soul Saved“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (I Corinthians 15:58)

You are essential to the work of the Lord here in Asia. It is our prayer that your faithful giving and prayers will result in rewards in Heaven. The idolatry of this area makes life unlike the atheist culture which we witnessed on the mainland. It is not unusual to see the clear work of Satan hindering and binding people from accomplishing God’s will.

One evening while preaching to the bilingual service, there was a loud thump near the entrance. Soon, I noticed evidence that the church’s front door had been opened. The door’s location prompted me to send a fellow missionary, Bro. L___, to investigate. After a few moments, I could tell he was working with someone. Some minutes later, a lady entered the room ahead of him and sat in the back. Her English name is L___. When the service was over, my wife and a Taiwanese friend went to talk to the visitor. We found out at that time that on the way in the door, something had happened that caused her to hit her head on the door! She had wanted to leave and go to the doctor; but Bro. L___ helped her, and she decided she could stay. We also found out she had been passing by some weeks before and had received an invitation to come but could not until that night. While some of our English service folks helped with various things, my wife was freed up to present the Gospel. L___ claimed to be a Christian but was a little confused on some of the points. I eventually joined the conversation as well. After asking her a few questions, she realized that Romans 10:13 was not saving her from life’s troubles but from an eternal punishment in Hell. I then invited her to pray and make that night the definite time she chose to accept Christ as Saviour. She agreed and was saved. Praise the Lord! It had required the effort of all involved to lead this precious soul to the Saviour. Please pray for her continued growth.

Glory to God, we have seen improvements in our language abilities. I am scheduled to preach a sermon in Chinese one Wednesday night in June. Please pray for my preparation and for my ability to convey God’s great truth in our target language.

Our son T___, currently attending Hyles-Anderson College, recently had surgery for a ruptured disc in his lower back. Please pray for his healing and provision during his recovery time. Also, please pray for our daughter E___, who will be graduating soon. Pray for her to have God’s guidance as she looks to find God’s will for her life.

Please also continue to pray for our mainland “friends.” They continue to need strength of faith, the wisdom of the Word, and Godly guidance in their daily lives. There are many reports of churches being persecuted.

Also pray for the many Taiwanese we have been patiently and diligently working to bring to the Gospel. They have many spiritual obstacles to overcome.

Bound to His service,
