Ghanaians are so receptive to the Gospel. This is truly a great harvest field.
Trip to Accra
At the end of September, Maria and I traveled to Accra with our youngest son Ben to renew his passport. The evening before our appointment, I asked our taxi driver, Emmanuel Larbi, if we could visit his family to share the Gospel with them. I had shared the Gospel with Emmanuel back in 2017 when we were coming back from the States. His wife Faustina and daughters Leslie and Dorothy listened so well to the message and professed their faith in Christ. Pray for Emmanuel; he has a desire to serve God with his life.
Soul Winning with the Boys
This past Saturday, my sons, my convert Patrice, and I went to visit the home of our class member, Ansah Boakye. We met his mother and his nephew James. Patrice witnessed to the mother while I shared the Gospel with James. James thought salvation was a process, with many steps involved. He was glad to learn that he could be born again by simply placing his faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. I learned that James’ 103-year-old grandfather, a World War II veteran, lives in the same house. I pray he will allow me to share the Gospel with him soon. His name is Nana Kwame Oppong.
Trip to Town
On Monday, my son John and I took an Uber into town for a dentist appointment and to pick up Ben’s passport from the DHL office. As soon as the driver, Prince, learned that I was a pastor, he said, “I have a question for you about God.” He wanted to know why God had allowed him to go through such a hard time last year. I talked to him about God’s sovereignty, His great love for us, and that He knows what is best. Then Prince said, “That is exactly what my grandmother told me.” With that, Prince was ready to hear the Gospel. I shared the first several truths with him before we reached the DHL office. While I was in line to pick up Ben’s passport, John stayed in the car to finish leading Prince to Christ. Prince was very thankful for the message.
Prayer Requests
Sammy and his wife Joyce are two of my converts; pray that they join our church. Pray for Maria’s convert Patience, who is attending faithfully and going through the discipleship curriculum with Maria’s help. Pray for Emmanuel Larbi to know and do God’s will for his life. We have had over 40 visitors to our Sunday school class these last 4 weeks; pray for us as we follow up on them. Pray for the spiritual growth of Faustina, Leslie, Dorothy, James, and Prince; and pray for the salvation of Nana Kwame Oppong. We thank God for the 11 new Bible college students He has brought our way recently, and we pray for them to be equipped for His service.
Your servants and His,
Mike, Maria, John, Joy, Faith, and Ben Sarver
