Helping at Home
After our trip out West, we were able to help our home church with bus maintenance, preaching, teaching, and music. We sent off the team of church members going to Brazil with a time of prayer, and God did a great work through them! They saw many saved! We were grateful to be a help with the services while they were away. I was also able to help a church, which was visiting the area for a Youth Conference, with their bus, and God provided some added blessings of talking with visiting pastors just by our being there to fix a bus!
Georgia
I took a quick trip down to Iglesia Bautista Cristo Es La Roca to help diagnose a problem with one of their buses. In addition, I was able to help with fixing multiple air leaks on their coach bus. Please pray for them as they find another church bus.
A Sweet Stop
On our way up to Indiana, we wanted to stop at a church on Sunday evening where we were staying for the night, and God led us to Vision Valley Baptist, where we were welcomed as family. They recently had a blown tire on one of their buses and an issue with a computer too. We look forward to being a help to their bus ministry and visiting again!
Missions University Week
The week of Missions University was full. We learned many ways to be a help to pastors and how to increase our influence through Godly leadership. Some specific ways to lead well are to listen to others and their needs and to show them that you value them. Our children greatly enjoyed the field trips and fun they had with the other children there.
Negative Confirmation and God’s Plan
Throughout the week of Missions University, we experienced negative confirmation that God was about to work. Satan was doing his best to discourage us. We traveled to West Virginia after that week, and God had special plans. We were able to present the ministry to Lighthouse Baptist Church and spend some quality time with new friends. God led them to provide the new injectors we needed for our truck and invited us to do the work there. Towards the end of the week was their church camp, which we were able to help with. Lauretta played the piano and sang at the camp, and I preached the last day. We planned to leave after I had preached, but God had other plans. I finished getting the truck in order and only test drove it a short distance before it broke down the night before I was to preach. God wondrously saved one teenage boy at camp the next morning! Then we needed to stay to fix the truck, so I was able to preach again Sunday night at the church. God was working in the heart of one of the camp counselors, and late Sunday night, that counselor asked God to save her! We might never know how God can use us and the seemingly negative circumstances in our lives. However, when we are following Him, they are just confirmation that He is working out His perfect plan, and the Devil is trying to get our eyes off of Him.
