Psalm 23:1-2 says, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.” I pray that you are doing well when you receive this prayer letter. My family and I are doing well, and I thank you so much for loving our family and the people of Puerto Rico.
During the month of April, we celebrated our church’s 38th Anniversary. For this special occasion, we had a group of seniors from City Baptist School in Hammond, Indiana, visiting with us. Brother John Francis, Brother Ricky Torres, and Brother Jubal Perez did a great job preaching for us during the services. For God’s glory, many first-time visitors attended our church and were saved and baptized.
Also during the month of April, my family and I were able to attend Hyles-Anderson College graduation in Hammond, Indiana, and watch our son Jose graduate. Our son Jay accepted an opportunity to serve the Lord in Hawaii and will begin his labors this fall.
PRAYER REQUESTS
• Please pray for Vacation Bible School June 19-22.
• Please continue to pray for the health of our daughter Carolina Raquel.
• Please continue to pray for the church in Humacao; pray that God would send a missionary or a pastor.
• Please pray for several properties adjacent to our church that are up for sale. The property in front of us will be used for a camp. We have a meeting with the owner in mid-July to negotiate the price. We are also trying to purchase a residential property next to our church that was recently repossessed by the bank. I have a meeting with the bank this Friday.
May God continue to bless you as you serve Him faithfully. Thank you very much for your love, prayers, and faithful support. God bless you.
In Christ,
Luis M. Martinez
