After being in the States for a short medical furlough for both my wife and me this spring, we have tickets to return to Haiti on May 23.
During the week leading up to Easter, we conducted a one-week seminar in our church auditorium, teaching the Gospel of John mornings and afternoons. We arranged for each participant to have a syllabus and had our ladies prepare breakfast and lunch each day. We opened these meetings to the public and averaged 140 in attendance. Upon completion of this training, we gave each person a copy of the New Testament in Creole.
Prior to the seminar, I taught the book of Isaiah for four weeks (three hours each weekday) to our full-time seminary students. Next week I will begin four weeks of lectures on the book of I Corinthians.
Haiti is still without a president. Last year’s election was nullified. Most of the recurring demonstrations exist in Port-au-Prince approximately five hours from St. Raphael.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. We appreciate all that you do for us. Since our last letter, we saw 31 trust Christ as their Saviour.
Respectfully,
Keith and Theresa Baker
