Recently, we found a very suitable area to conduct our first Vacation Bible School of the summer. Located in a Haitian country village, we found an existing lean-to for us to use. We added a couple of large tarps for shade and extended space for seating. Besides the children who were invited through door-to-door canvassing, several Haitian mothers brought their own children and decided to stay each day. We worked to present the complete package, including songs, a memory verse, games, prizes, food, drinks, and, of course, a Gospel story. Sixteen of those who attended responded to accept Jesus as their Saviour. Amen! There will be more VBS to come later this summer.
Teens for God, our Friday night service, is still our service with the best average attendance; although on July 9, we had a Sunday high of over 60 for our Baby Dedication Day.
We are introducing some activities this summer for teens, including cake-decorating classes for the girls and masonry and carpentry classes for the guys. It is important to stay connected with our young people during their vacation months.
Three days ago, on July 8, I (Keith) had a mishap and fractured my right ankle. My foot will be in a compression boot for several weeks, and I will need to get around with crutches. Your prayers are certainly appreciated.
We trust, as we pray, that you are prospering in the Lord. We are grateful for your support and partnership in the Gospel.
Respectfully,
Keith and Theresa Baker
