On this my 43rd birthday, I want to thank my Saviour Jesus Christ for all the blessings He has given to me in life. My salvation, my wife, my children, my extended family, and so many friends are each a blessing that God has used to encourage, inspire, and motivate me to continue to do His will for my life.
Two weeks ago, we started another in-person fall semester at Hyles-Anderson College, where I have the privilege of teaching missions, Bible, and counseling courses. Praise the Lord for what He is doing here! Katie, our daughter, started her second year as a college student here. Jeremy Jr. is a senior at Hammond Baptist, and Andrew is a sophomore at Hammond Baptist.
During this season, God has allowed me to help serve many FBMI missionaries by phone calling, emailing, texting, and in-person meetings. We did have a wonderful FBMI Candidate School the first week in August, normally held in May, but the date changed because of COVID-19. I also had the opportunity to help with two preliminary Exit Interviews, one by way of phone and another one in person over the past five weeks. It is exciting to see our missionaries raise their financial and prayer support so that they can get closer to leaving for the mission field.
Even during this season of COVID-19, we have had the opportunity to pass out many tracts, witness to people, and see people trust Christ as Saviour. This past Saturday, Andrew and I had the privilege of leading a lady by the name of Cynthia to Christ. We also got to give the Gospel to Shannon and hear the salvation testimony of Sylvia while knocking on scores of doors.
In addition to teaching the New Grace Adult Bible Class, I was recently asked to teach a class in the Spanish Bible Institute here at our church by Bro. Andy Gomez, and Pastor Wilkerson asked me to head up a new soul-winning ministry for Hyles-Anderson College students called the Local Outreach Ministry. Most of our college students are very involved with the church bus routes in Chicago, but due to some students having to work on Saturday afternoons and a few other reasons, we started the ministry two weeks ago. God is using us and the students to fulfill the Great Commission.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support.
For His glory,
Jeremy and Eren Snipes
