I am happy to announce that we are now in Nigeria! I will report more on that next month, but I wanted to let all of you who have been praying for us know that we did make it and are now working with David & Rose Maskey, missionaries to Nigeria for 30 years. During the month of February, we continued to prepare for our departure while having regular meetings. We were in Georgia and Texas for half of the month and were blessed to attend a Marriage Retreat in Missouri (Sandra and I have attended at least one Marriage Retreat for every year that we’ve been married, and it was important to me to keep that streak going). A special thank you to Pastor & Mrs. Mohler of Ozark Baptist Church of Ozark, Missouri, along with their eldest daughter, for watching four of our children for us so we could attend.
Bob was living in a trailer park when my son Henry and I knocked on his door. After I introduced who we were, the first words out of his mouth were, “How did you find me?” He ended up attending the church we were visiting for, Grace Baptist Church of Wetumpka, Alabama. I met Kim while out soul winning in an apartment complex with Pastor Doug MacCormack. Although her husband was obviously not interested, he did not hinder Kim from accepting Christ as her Saviour! Amen!
Shortly after, Pastor MacCormack and I met Roy, who invited us into his home. He was trusting in the fact that his former wife was a preacher to get him to Heaven. He came to church on Sunday and heard Evangelist Tom Lancaster preach. When he didn’t go forward, I came to him during the invitation, and he allowed me to go share the Gospel with him, resulting in his receiving the assurance of his salvation. Alex was a homeless man I met while visiting the Chapel on Wheels Ministry of Parkside Baptist Church of Mesquite, Texas. He told me he grew up Catholic and admitted to trusting in his works to get him to Heaven. After sharing with him what the Bible teaches, he readily bowed his head to accept Christ as his Saviour! Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support enabling us to reach people like the four above.
