Jeremy and Sandra Barker Prayer Letter: 5 Down--2 to Go!Happy New Year to all of our supporters. We want to thank all of you who sent something extra during the Christmas season; it was a blessing. I have an exciting update—our visas have been approved . . . for 5 of us, that is! The visa process for getting into Nigeria involves an interview, which one must go through at a third party hired by the Nigerian Consulate in either Washington, D.C.; Houston, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Los Angeles, California; or Jersey City, New Jersey. With our travel schedule, the only branch we were going to be remotely near was Atlanta, Georgia, and we had the interviews for 5 of us there in October. Joanna’s due date wasn’t until December, so we were planning on getting hers (and Alex’s) in the mail, since it was allowed due to their age. However, due to the strict guidelines and sheer amount of paperwork involved (168 pages per person when we went to Atlanta), I really wanted to go into an office to make sure everything was done correctly and to avoid possible delays. God worked things out for us. Due to some unexpected changes in our schedule, we were going to be fairly close to the Washington, D.C., location, and we used that as an opportunity to submit the paperwork. God was definitely involved, as you are not usually able to be seen without an appointment (that takes multiple weeks), and if you are seen, it comes with a $90 fee. However, they saw us with no additional cost.

We cannot afford, however, for Alex and Joanna’s visas to take a very long time to come in since our visas are set to expire on March 19, and we have to be in Nigeria to start the residency-permit process in advance of that date. Please pray for theirs to get approved soon. We plan on purchasing plane tickets in the month of January, with a March 6 departure date. Please pray for our continued health and safety as we travel and our final preparations for the move, as well as for wisdom and God’s leading on housing in Nigeria. The end is in sight, and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you for your part in making this possible with your prayers and financial support.

Working hard to bring fruit to your account,
