Praise the Lord, we finally got our things! We are rejoicing that after three years of living in Uganda, we can finally move into our house! Yes, I know that sounds strange, but we have been trying to get our things out of Rwanda all that time. It has really hindered us.
Finally, Pastor Rama went back to Rwanda and worked it all out for us. I sent him money to pay for the truck, and he got the job done. Sadly, a lot of our things had been stolen, and every box had been rifled through. But we do rejoice that we got about 90% of what we had, and we rejoice that the thief did not take the radio equipment and transmitter that were right at the very entrance of the container.
We are also happy that Pastor Rama was able to stay with us for a couple of weeks. He explained further just how things are going in Burundi with the radio station and church. He is doing a good job of soul winning, and many new people are coming to the church. We have worked with him for more than 12 years, and we rejoice in his faithfulness to the Lord.
He also clarified again about our getting approval to operate a radio station in Burundi. We are 100% approved to operate a radio station, but we have to build a studio and a radio tower before they will give us a frequency. He said we were the last to be given approval for Bujumbura because of some changes coming in the government. Please pray that God will provide all that we need to build. The radio station will reach several million people.
We are also enjoying serving with Kitendi Baptist Church. People are getting saved, and several now need to get baptized. I am so happy that I was able to start a Bible- memorization program there. Every month, I hand out a half-sheet of paper with about five Bible verses on it for the people to take home. Then they are simply to review those verses as a family after dinner or before bed every day. Going over verses every day for 30 days is the key. We also take four minutes to go over them together as a church on Sundays and Wednesdays. It is working! People are doing it and getting the Bible into their hearts. Remember Psalm 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
