I want to first of all wish all of you a Happy New Year! It was indeed a great start to a new year. We continued to work on our bus route. The Lord allowed us to visit some new contacts. One contact was a family that used to go to another church. I visited them and found that we had many specific things in common. I’m amazed how the Lord brings certain people together. We chatted for about an hour and half at the door, and they committed to come to church the following week. To my surprise, I saw them the next day at church! They’ve attended at least two Sundays so far. Another contact was from an apartment building across the street from the church. There were four children, but the youngest was too young to ride the bus. I invited the parents and even witnessed to them, but they said that they weren’t ready yet. The three children came to church, and two of them got saved. They’ve been faithful ever since. Please pray for their parents to come to church; but, most importantly, pray for them to be saved.
I was back on the computer and the phones this month. I’ve contacted over 700 churches so far and still counting. The Lord has allowed me to fill up most of my spring schedule, a few in my fall schedule, and even a couple of meetings for next year. Please pray that I fill my calendar up with meetings.
The Lord allowed me to go to Australia on a survey trip this month. I got to spend Australia Day with family. The next day I visited two churches and got to talk to the pastors there. The following weekend I visited Living Hope Baptist Church of Taree, New South Wales, which is about three hours north of Sydney on the East Coast. We were able to spend time with veteran missionary Jon Hall. He and his family have been there for 21 years and have been instrumental in 5 different church plants on the eastern side of Australia. I was able to get valuable advice from his experience serving the Lord in Australia. I was also able to spend some time with Pastor Syd Valeran, who planted the church in Taree. Many laymen in the church were also helpful. I had the honor of being a part of their Kids’ Club on Friday afternoon, visiting members in the hospital, and preaching for their Sunday morning service. Next week will be their six-year anniversary, and I will be producing a video for them for that special day. On Monday when we got back from Taree, I was able to spend some time with some men of God at the opening night of Sydney Bible Baptist College. Again, many valuable lessons and advice were given to me. Please pray that the Lord will further direct me while I finish deputation.
I will be attending a soul-winning conference this week, and I will be preaching for three different churches this Sunday. I will be leaving to go back to America on Monday. Please pray for safe travels. Please also pray for my wife, as she is still in Michigan with our three children. We praise the Lord for all He has done through us. Thank you so much for your prayers and for your support. May the Lord bless you for your sacrifice!
Your servant in Christ,
Garry Tingson
