In July, we got to see many old friends at the FBMI Missions University and the annual First Baptist Church Youth Conference. We also met new friends, and I was encouraged to see more new missionaries this year, one of whom was Go Oishi, who grew as a Christian at our home church and started a Public School Ministry, which I was blessed to be a part of. I am so excited to see him now on deputation to be a missionary to Japan. At the end of July, we were able to present our work at Calvary Baptist Church of Charlotte. The people were very receptive there. During the same week, we were a part of our Vacation Bible School, which was themed “Under Construction.” We had 25-30 primary kids on our bus from Monday to Wednesday. For the whole week, we saw 68 kids saved in total, 7 of whom I was honored to share the Gospel with personally.
The month of August started with the news that Australia had hit 25 million in population. That’s 33 years earlier than predictions initially forecasted. Folks, the time to win Aussies is now. Australia also has a new Prime Minister, Scott Morrison. Please pray that God will give him the wisdom to lead the country. This month, my children were accepted as new citizens of Australia. We received their certificates in just two weeks—the turnaround time is usually around six months! Only God could have orchestrated this! The end of August marked the beginning of our busy fall schedule of missions conferences. We were with Pastor Joseph Brown and the Marion Avenue Baptist Church of Washington, Iowa. We were so blessed to see a missions-minded church. We were spoiled beyond all measure, and I can’t thank them enough for the love and care they show to missionaries. The church took us on for support before we even arrived, and we received our first month’s support, along with a large love offering, during their Sunday night service! We were able to use our newly designed prayer card that can be used to make a boomerang that actually comes back. Kids loved it. Check out our Facebook page to see the video tutorial. I hope and pray that these prayer cards will remind them about us and the spiritual need in Australia.
We want to thank our new supporters that have taken us on during these months: Fort Cooper Baptist Church of Inverness, Florida; Calvary Baptist Church of St. Marys, West Virginia; Marion Avenue Baptist Church of Washington, Iowa; Macarthur Baptist Church of Sydney, Australia; Victory Road Sunday School Class and the “A” Junior Church of Lakecrest Baptist Church.
Social media has been a great tool for us, and if you want to see what the Lord is doing in our lives on a more regular basis, you can follow us on Facebook at Tingsons2Australia. Thank you for your prayers and for your support!
Please Pray for:
• Australia – spiritual revival, strengthening of churches.
• Deputation – our health, traveling mercies, souls saved, and support level to increase.
Your servant in Christ,
Garry Tingson
