I was communicating with a pastor about presenting my ministry at his church last month, and I was able to secure a meeting at his church. We discussed our current situation on the deputation trail and how I’m only able to do deputation part-time, as I’m still working a full-time job. I will never forget what he said to me: “You are going to have to launch out in faith! God will take wonderful care of your family.” I wasn’t comfortable making such a big decision on behalf of my family. My goal was to go full-time deputation in the fall of this year. Well, since that conversation, the Lord has been showing Himself mightily. The whole month of March is booked with meetings, and we also have several meetings scheduled throughout the year. The Lord was telling me something. I decided that we would launch out in faith and pursue deputation full-time. I have just finished my last week at my secular job, and I will be hard at work booking meetings this week.
The Lord has been gracious in allowing us to be with our home church these past few months. I’ve been privileged to be a part of a bus route, a teen Sunday school class, substitute for a couple of adult Sunday school classes, preach for “King’s Kids,” and, of course, help out with canvassing and door knocking. My wife has been privileged to be a part of the choir, the nursery, help with the promotions for the Bus Ministry, go soul winning, and sing special numbers. We have enjoyed our time at Lakecrest Baptist Church and the time with our family. Though we will be back there from time to time, we will surely miss being with them every week.
I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for us as we take this journey. We will be in our first missions conference at the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Horseheads, New York. The missions revival will go from March 3-7. The following weekend we will be with the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Toronto, Canada. Then we will be with Fort Cooper Baptist Church in Inverness, Florida. To close the month of March, we will be with First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, from March 25-28.
Thank you for your prayers for our ministry. Thank you for your financial support, which enables us to do what the Lord has called us to do. We are excited to get to the field as soon as we can, and we are targeting to finish deputation in about two years. We will continue to pray for you as the Lord uses you to be missionaries in your area.
Please pray for:
• Australia – for God to send a spiritual revival in a spiritually dry country.
• Our travels – for God to keep us safe and for our vehicle.
• Our family – for our health and for our faith to strengthen.
Your servant in Christ,
Garry Tingson
