We started August being at our home church for our soul-winning conference. We heard great preaching from great men of God. Pastor Fugate’s message on faith was very powerful! (1) You and I were made to please God. (2) Faith pleases God. (3) Faith is dependence on God. It’s not our service to God that pleases God, but our dependence on Him to serve Him! We missed out on the closing of the conference with Dr. Shelton Smith; however, we were with Pastor Jeff Huggins and Emmanuel Baptist Church of Morgantown, West Virginia. They are a sweet group of people, who love the Lord and love missions! They will be partnering with us to reach Australia with the Gospel!
The following week, we met with Pastor Bart Spencer and Lighthouse Baptist Church of Holland, Michigan, and presented our ministry. I got to go door knocking with Bro. Brandon of LBC. We met many people from different walks of life. We even met a man who used to be a Sunday school teacher and is now an atheist. When we thought we’d see nobody saved, we met a Cambodian man named Harry. He was very receptive and asked Jesus to save him that day! It was great to talk to Pastor Spencer one on one about his experience with starting Lighthouse Baptist Church. He has heaps of wisdom!
Our next meeting brought us back to West Virginia, but this time in Spanishburg. I had the privilege to preach and present our ministry at Rich Creek Baptist Church. I was also able to speak to the young people in Sunday school. Thank you, Pastor James Mattox and RCBC, for the wonderful time!
We were able to spend time with our family and our home church whenever we weren’t at a meeting in August. It’s great to be a part of a church that is on fire for God! I was able to go door knocking with a fellow missionary, Robinson Gresseau, who happened to be in the area, but my favorite soul-winning partner is my wife Mindy. We were able to see a young lady named Lilly saved while out door knocking on a Thursday night!
Please continue to pray for us as we travel. This fall will be our busiest season yet. We praise the Lord that we were able to purchase a travel trailer for a good price. We gave it an Aussie name of “Millie.” Thank you for your continued prayers and for those of you who support us financially!
Your servant in Christ,
Garry Tingson
