It’s been a busy school year for my son Rhys. He had the enormous task of keeping up with his schoolwork (as he’s still attending a Christian school) while traveling with Mom and Dad around the country, going from church to church on deputation. I’m proud of him for graduating kindergarten from Lakecrest Baptist School in May. Not only did he graduate, but he also received an “All-As” award for the whole year! Praise the Lord! Elin will be starting school in the fall, and she’s excited about it. Having the children learn academically is great, but the children have also learned a lot about faith and trusting in God while traveling. In fact, Rhys has mentioned that he wants to be a preacher when he grows up!
We’ve been able to present our work to a handful of churches these past couple of months and even had Solid Rock Baptist Church of Hughesville, Maryland, vote to take us on for support on the night we were there! I love seeing God’s hand move in a mighty way during a service. We’ve had four new churches start supporting us these past couple of months. Please continue to pray for us in the matter of our raising support. Our support target level is high due to the cost of living in Australia, but we know the Lord will provide!
We’ve been able to spend a lot of time at home in Michigan due to Rhys’ graduation, but I’ve also been able to work in the ministries here at our home church. I’m greatly encouraged about our bus route and the spiritual growth we’ve seen in our bus kids. About a month ago, my wife and I were passing out Bibles and candy in an apartment complex. We met two sisters whom I had met before, but their mom hadn’t been very fond of us in the past. I offered to give them Bibles and candy if their mom would allow us to do so. Their mom reluctantly agreed. Moments later while talking to their neighbors who were regular riders, the mom interrupted and asked if her daughters could go to church with us. I gladly agreed! We picked them up the next Sunday, and they have been faithful ever since. The oldest girl got saved a couple of weeks ago, and the younger one got saved at junior camp a week later. Their mom is saved but is hesitant to come to church at the moment. Please pray that she will decide to come to church one day.
If you want to see what the Lord is doing in our lives on a more regular basis, you can find us and follow us on Facebook at Tingsons2Australia. Thank you for your prayers and for your support!
