Things were moving right along in the second month of our church plant. We had our first service in the Port Macquarie Senior Citizens Centre on Easter Sunday, and there was excitement in the air! We had around 40 people in our service on Easter Sunday, and over half of them were visitors! Mindy did a great job teaching the children about the Resurrection. After the service, everyone was invited to our place for a good-old Aussie “barbie” and an Easter egg hunt for the children. We praise the Lord for giving us a great Easter Sunday service! The Lord truly was gracious in helping us find this facility. We receive a huge discount for being a non-profit organisation, and the people who run it are great people. The Lord has been working wondrously—even in the details!
On Thursdays, we have discipleship with a family in our church. The husband has only been saved for two years, and he has a great thirst for the Word of God. Please continue to pray for more people to be saved in Port Macquarie and for them to have the same thirst for God!
At the end of the month, we had the privilege of hosting a big group from two churches in Sydney who came up during the long weekend for Anzac Day. It is the national day of commemoration in Australia and New Zealand for victims of war and for recognition of the role of their armed forces. It marks the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I. The group from Sydney was a tremendous help! They helped with labelling tracts with our new church details and putting tracts in letterboxes. We were able to distribute over 2,500 tracts! We had a man by the name of Ron visit our church the following Sunday because he received a tract in his mailbox. Praise the Lord! One of the ladies in the group is very talented in graphic design and helped us design a logo for our church.
This past month has been busy, as a lot of work goes into a church plant. It is definitely an “all hands on deck” situation, and we’re grateful for the group of people that the Lord has provided. Please pray for grace and strength in this busy time. Our children have shown a lot of patience through it all. Please continue to pray for them. Of course, we can’t do all this without your faithful prayers and support, and we’re very grateful for you!
Your servant in Christ,
