Greetings from the Foust family! We are so thankful for each of our supporting churches and friends and for the many who pray for us faithfully. We know that the work could not go on here in Lima without godly people giving and praying tirelessly.
Our boys are finishing up the 2016-2017 school year. Caleb will be a junior in high school next year, and Logan is entering the eighth grade. We are thankful for another successful year and are amazed at how quickly time is going and how fast the boys are growing! Zachary, Jr. finished his first year of Bible college and did an excellent job in his classes, work, and ministry. We are so pleased with the family God has given us, and we covet your prayers for them.
The church in San Gabriel is growing, both spiritually and numerically. We have had three new families join our congregation recently, which is an incredible blessing. We have also trained new Sunday school teachers for our Children’s Ministry! It is exciting to watch new teachers learn how to reach the youth of our area.
We are still working on translating the Foundations of Our Faith discipleship series. Most of our church has now gone through Levels 1 and 2. The translation work is nearly complete, and we look forward to having it ready for other ministries to use very soon. Please pray that God would use this program to help many churches and individuals as a valuable resource as we work to strengthen and grow converts in the Word of God.
Please continue to pray for our soul-winning efforts here in Lima! We have seen more than 50 people come to Christ in the ministry of the church in San Gabriel since our last letter. We have also had the opportunity to train another Baptist church in winning the lost. After the training session, we took the new soul winners out into the community, and we saw 12 people trust Christ!
We would also ask you to pray for us, as I have been asked to become the interim team leader for Team Peru. We covet your prayers for wisdom and discernment as we advance here in Peru. We have many exciting opportunities ahead of us, and we wish to please our Saviour in all that we do.
I will be heading to the Amazon Jungle in June with a national pastor for an exploratory trip on the River Maranon. We will be on the river for several days, visiting villages to determine where churches are needed. Please pray for our safety in this remote area and for wisdom in determining where pastors and workers should be sent. We have plans to return in August to help this same pastor teach in his seminary, which meets every three months.
Again, we thank you for your prayers for our family and for our ministry.
