As you may know, the months of August and September were spent by our family in the United States on a brief furlough. We were so blessed to be in many of our supporting churches in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. It was so encouraging for us to witness firsthand the continuing faithfulness of God’s people and the evidence of His grace in the lives of our friends, family, and supporting churches. We were able to be in some new churches as well and were able to raise more support. We can’t thank those of you who welcomed us “home” and fed and housed us and supplied our needs in a multitude of ways. As we always say, we are blessed with the greatest supporting churches in the world.
While we were in the States, the church in San Gabriel continued to go on successfully, with souls saved and visitors and new families in the church. The church was led in our absence by Bro. Paul Yanez. I was blessed to lead Bro. Paul to the Lord when we first came to Peru in 2012. Since that time, he has been so faithful to the Lord, staying by my side to learn and grown spiritually. He feels that God may be calling him to pastor and has been teaching adult Sunday school and preaching in my absence. He has a sincere heart to serve the Lord and others, and we are so blessed to have him in our church. Please pray for that God will continue to work in his heart and that he will grow in God’s grace.
We have left our oldest in the States to attend Bible college. Please pray for him and for us during this difficult time of adjustment without our son. He is happy and doing great, serving the Lord. Caleb and Logan are back in school, with Caleb starting his junior year and Logan in seventh grade. They enjoyed their time in the States, visiting churches and spending time with friends, grandparents, and cousins.
We are beginning our Spring Program at the end of October at our church, and we covet your prayers for many salvations and new families in the church. We will also be having a big evangelistic day on the Peruvian holiday of the Day of the Dead, the first of November. On this day, as we did last year, we will visit the world’s second-largest cemetery located in the same district as our church. Tens of thousands of people will be there, and we will organize a large group of soul winners to present the Gospel to as many people as possible. We will have special tracts made up and will team with several churches to spend that day winning people to Christ. Last year, with a group from our church, we were able to see more than 100 people trust Christ. We are praying for even more this year. Please join us in prayer for this special day.
As always, we thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and support. May God richly bless you.
His for souls,
Zach and Karin Foust
Zachary, Caleb, and Logan
