Greetings! Since joining FBMI in June, we have been busy preparing things necessary to begin deputation. Currently we are still working on the media to make it the best possible presentation that will convey our calling to the Philippines. In the meantime, we are still ministering full-time in the Refugee Ministry of our sending church, Fellowship Baptist Church of Durham, North Carolina. In recent weeks we have been traveling to various states, ministering the Gospel in the refugee communities, and driving for families from our Refugee Ministry helping them to move to new areas.
We had the privilege of driving two different times to Ohio. God used us to spread the Gospel in those communities and connect the families with a local, independent, fundamental Baptist church. The first city we drove to was Akron, Ohio. God used us to share the Gospel with a Nepali Hindu family. One lady acknowledged that she had accepted Christ. We also went soul winning in the neighborhood and were blessed to win a Nepali young person to
the Lord.
On another occasion, we drove again to Ohio, but this time to Columbus. We gave out Nepali Gospel tracts. We were blessed to share the Gospel with the family we were staying with, and 3 made the decision to accept Christ as their God and Saviour. In between our travels for the refugees, my wife Holly attended the Teen and Junior Camp hosted by our sending church at Gospel Light Camp, Hillsville, Virginia. I was busy handling the Refugee Ministry while my wife brought 6 Nepali young people to Teen Camp and 2 junior-aged kids from the refugee community to Junior Camp. All 6 of the Nepali young people accepted Christ as their only God and Saviour.
We also praise the Lord for how God obviously worked in the hearts of the junior kids. They had previously been saved, and it was touching to see them respond during the preaching at camp. While my wife was at the Junior Camp, I was working with one of the refugee families we had been ministering to for four years. God had used us to win 2 of the young people, but we had not had any response to the Gospel from the rest of the family. That week I once again shared the Gospel with the entire family. Glory to God, all 5 remaining family members who had not been saved decided to trust the Lord Jesus as their God and Saviour! Amen!
Our latest trip brought us to Rochester, New York. It is amazing how God moves to bring people together to accomplish His purpose. We were soul winning in the area and were used by God to win 2 Nepali young men to the Lord. While we were out soul winning, we noticed a church setting up a camp meeting at the park. Praise the Lord! It was an independent Baptist church doing a “Revival in the Park”! We were excited to join that ministry. God used us to supply some foreign-language Gospel tracts to those precious church folks who were trying to reach that community for the Lord Jesus Christ. God also used us to introduce a Christian young man from India who wanted to help this church in Rochester reach people for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Lastly, we were privileged to hear about our very first Nepali couple with whom we had begun the Refugee Ministry five years ago. This couple had moved away, and recently we learned that they became Christians and are faithfully attending a Nepali Christian church in Illinois.
We look forward to sharing more of God’s blessings with you soon. We covet your prayers and thank you for your part in getting the Gospel to the lost.
