Jehovah-Jireh (“the Lord will provide”). The same God Who led and provided for Abraham is the same God we love and serve today. We are excited to report how God has provided in preparation for our return to the Philippines!
We specifically had asked prayer for the need of furnishings for our home once we get moved to the Bicol Region. God answered that prayer by placing on the heart of one church for a missions project to offer some help for some of those furnishing needs. Jehovah-Jireh! God then doubled the blessing when one of our supporting churches offered to help us with the purchase of our plane tickets for our move to the Philippines. Jehovah-Jireh!
By God’s grace, we have purchased plane tickets, and we are anticipating being ready to move in July, God willing we reach 100% of our target support level. We are currently at 88%. Jehovah-Jireh! We have been busy packing the rest of our belongings and booking our last meetings and missions conferences. We asked prayer for our travels and that God would continue to use us to share His amazing salvation everywhere we go.
It is always our delight and joy to share the Gospel in the local communities we are traveling through and to point the families to local churches in their area. We had the privilege of sharing the Gospel in a predominantly Hispanic community. We are grateful for the local churches reaching out to the visiting families for Easter festivities and sharing the meaning of the Resurrection of Christ and His salvation. While still in the area, my wife and I were able to follow up on one of the families from the Hispanic community. I shared my testimony of how I had been dedicated to the Catholic religion and only found hope of eternal life when I believed God’s Word and trusted Jesus Christ alone as my personal Saviour. After sharing the Gospel, a mother and her daughter both trusted Christ! They then both realized that their neighbors and friends, who were also very religious, must hear the message of hope through Jesus Christ. Another time while out sharing the Gospel, I met a young man who was very eager to hear what the Bible said about eternal life. It was not long until he understood his need for the Saviour. Upon believing and receiving Christ as his personal Saviour, he then looked up at me and asked, “What if you and your wife had never come to me and I had never heard this message of hope in Christ?” He then, with a sober look on his face, answered his own question: “If I had died before accepting Christ, I would be in Hell!” Hearing those words from that young man drives us all the more earnestly to win souls wherever we go, as well as fueling our yearning to be in the Philippines to start the next church plant.
Lastly, as time draws near for our departure, it will be no surprise that Satan will be stirring up trouble in the Philippines, but we believe God! Please continue to pray that the rebels will lay down their arms. Please continue to pray for the sale of our car. It is our desire to sell the car so that we may have the funds to purchase a vehicle to use in the Philippines.
Thank you to everyone who faithfully prays for us. Thank you to our financial supporters for your faithful giving unto the Lord’s work. God bless you with much fruit added unto your account for both the intercession and giving to our ministry.
In Christ’s service,
Dennis and Holly Lagos
