Busier Than Ever
I do not think we have ever been as busy as we are now! We are really pouring ourselves into this beloved nation. There is much church growth going on, as we are averaging 90 to 100 in attendance each Sunday morning. We have had 74 souls saved so far this year, and 104 people have visited our church! God is certainly blessing us each week. We are also seeing growth in the Sunday night service and the Wednesday night Bible study. Young adults in England are seeking to know the Bible and understand more about their Christian heritage. Please pray with us as we remain faithful to teach God’s Word to those who are hungry for truth. We would love for God to use our church to reach more students at the local university.
Getting the Word Out
With the extra resources now available in our media room, we have been creating Bible teaching and announcement videos. Also add to that a nursing home ministry in two homes, with another requesting meetings. Then there is the soul winning and tract distribution ratcheting up, through which many in our area are finding out about our church. Our church members are very busy working alongside us, especially for special events. It has been a blessed example to see their commitment over the years to keep the church doors open and the Gospel going forth. The work for Christ here seems to be going to another level since Daniel and his family have gotten involved. We really want to thank you for sending them over here to help us.
Sundays Are Fun Days!
The church is 113 years old, and we are perhaps all feeling our age lately! The influx of new caregivers and their families into England during and after the pandemic has changed the face of the United Kingdom, our city of Preston, and now our church. We now have attendees from all over the world. Most have a Christian heritage. Some are from heavily persecuted places, which makes for very dedicated and hardworking Christians. When we were asked to pastor the church in 2013, there were no babies and not many children. We worked on this for years, with some steady growth off and on. COVID wiped out our children’s ministries, and we had to effectively start over. Now, we are well supplied and have many families with multiple children. All this to say, we are working overtime trying to meet the needs of the children without displacing any of our older folks. Thankfully, Daniel has been able to take on the teens. Please pray with us that we can properly handle the mixed multitude of all ages and backgrounds.
Solt Family Update
The Solt family has expanded, and we are therefore challenged to learn the new skills of being Grandpa and Nana. Some folks get to learn this gradually—we are having a crash course! The blessings and hugs are worth the challenge, and the joy of sharing our lives here with family again is immeasurable.
We plan to travel to Boston in September to meet Baby Ember Solt. She is growing steadily, and everything is going well. Ashley and Jeremy are managing the responsibilities of family, work, and ministry. They have received significant support from their community. Their address is Jeremy & Ashley Solt, 10 East Nichols Street, Woburn, MA 01801 USA.
We just had an encouraging visit from a friend from Wisconsin who really blessed our family, teens, and music program. More guests are on
their way this autumn. Visiting, praying for, and supporting a missionary has untold rewards. Thank you for the many who sacrifice to keep the few on the field!
Yours for souls,
The Solt Family
