Since our last letter, much has happened here. In February, I had the opportunity to travel to Akure to be a part of the ordination of 2 of our seminary graduates. This is the first ordination that I’ve had the privilege to be a part of. One of them is the pastor of one of the churches that we are helping to build a building. I was able to preach to the church in the small room that they’ve been meeting in for over a year. I taught on salvation and eternal security. After the teaching, 5 people accepted the gift of eternal life! I also had the experience of preaching at my first baby naming ceremony for one of our church members.
In March, I traveled to Port Harcourt for our first of 3 “Who Will Go?” Youth Camps that we, along with a couple other missionaries and pastors, are running this year. Missionary Dave Maskey started the church in Port Harcourt 29 years ago. What a wonderful testimony of faithfulness! The camp was successful, with around 120 youth present and about 60 making some kind of decision to surrender to God’s will! Please pray for the camp that will be held March 28-30 in Ibadan. These camps are important for many reasons. One byproduct that we’ve noticed is that the young people are made aware of the opportunity to go to Bible college. We currently have 3 students training for ministry who decided to come because of the camps last year. I know that some of you invested financially in these camps last year. If you would like to do so again or for the first time, please let me know. The remaining 2 camps will cost $800 apiece. Thank you for your prayers!
God has been doing great things recently at Truth Baptist in Abuja! While I was in Port Harcourt, the church hosted a “Bible Club Sunday.” It was designed so that the parents of the children who attend the numerous Bible Clubs near the church would come to the Sunday morning service. We had a record attendance of 762 people! All the visitors, both parents and children, heard a clear presentation of the Gospel.
We are praising God that $30,000 has come in for the church buildings! God is good! We have started construction on two of the projects. All money that comes in will continue to go towards building church buildings for church plants. Humanly speaking, the church-planting effort in Nigeria is moving forward because Christians are obeying the Holy Spirit’s leading in giving and praying.
We know that it takes folks like you to send folks like us!
In His service,
Daniel, Erin, Ezekiel, and Gianna Lang
