Hafa Adai from the beautiful island of Guam.
Good news! Guam’s Pandemic Condition of Readiness 1, PCOR1, was downgraded to PCOR2 on the last day of January and then to PCOR3 two days ago. A press release stated, “Most activities will be permitted to operate under moderated conditions with regulations and restrictions.” Big steps in the right direction. Thank you for praying.
Fun Fact
The island’s temperature plummeted to 69 degrees on January 31, which broke a 71-year-old temperature record!
Soul winning continues to improve, as the Lord used me personally to lead 23 people to Christ. A man stood under a tree with his face mask removed. This presented a soul-winning opportunity for me. As I approached and introduced myself, he responded cordially but seemed unsettled, nervous. I thought it was because we were talking with masks off in public. When I inquired if I might ask him my “pastor’s question,” he responded he was a pastor’s son. When I asked if he were sure he would go to Heaven when he died, he answered “Yes” but did not know how. After I explained the Gospel to him, he said he understood and believed. He wanted to pray and receive the Lord Jesus Christ into his heart as his personal Saviour. After we finished praying, he seemed calm, settled, and sincerely thanked me. Though amazed by the calm that settled him, I was more thankful that he settled the most important thing, his salvation.
Island Baptist Church’s 20th Anniversary was Sunday, January 3. We were unable to celebrate, but the spirit of the church services was wonderful. Uncoordinated, our members split their attendances between the morning and evening services, some due to their own virus concerns. More members attended the Sunday evening service, trying to avoid the Sunday morning crowd, which humored me, because they were all surprised how full we were that evening. Though attendance restrictions and virus concerns could have been an influencing factor to be less faithful, thankfully, our members remain faithful, minus one, and it seems the ones most faithful are most blessed of the Lord. Thank you for praying!
Thank you for praying for us and sacrificially supporting our ministry. Over the past 20 years, thousands of islanders have received the Gospel, and hundreds have been spiritually helped through Island Baptist Church. The Lord called me to serve here faithfully, and your faithfulness has helped to keep me here serving.
Please continue to pray for our health and safety, Island Baptist Church, Guam, and Micronesia.
In His harvest field,
