November and December were productive months. We saw 663 souls receive Christ as Saviour in our work here in Dasmariñas City; 443 of those were saved during our Soul-Winning Marathon on November 1 & 2. Most of those 443 were saved while soul winning in a large cemetery on “All Saints Day.” Thousands of people go there for two or three days each year and camp out on the graves of their loved ones. It’s kind of like a large campground. It’s great because no one is in a hurry or going anywhere, and they have plenty of time to hear the Gospel.
The year 2019 was a victorious year! We saw 5,775 souls saved at our work here in Dasmariñas City and approximately 1,701 saved in the 3 outreaches we started in the past year and a half, for a total of 7,476 saved.
One of the great milestones this past year was in December, when, after almost two years of effort and several setbacks, we were finally granted the building permit for our church facilities. We are excited and hope to start our building program within the next two months. Please pray for wisdom, strength, and Godspeed for this undertaking.
Our young people did great during their Christmas caroling. They raised a total of $1,276 for summer youth camp; $275 of that was raised by our young people from our outreach in Lipa City, Batangas.
God is blessing our work in Lipa City, as souls continue to be saved and Christians continue to grow in the Lord and bear fruit. Please pray for Sam and Melly Naynes (photo on right), a couple in our church, as they prepare for Bro. Sam to take over as full-time pastor on March 22. Bro. Sam is 63 years old and recently retired as an accountant for the Central Bank of the Philippines. He and Melly are on track to graduate soon from our Bible institute. Please also pray for the facilities in Lipa. The building we are renting is getting quite full.
The year 2019 was a good year for missions in our church. Our folks are excited about missions and continue to give. Liezel Becera, a young lady who graduated from our Bible college, is a missionary in Indonesia, and the Lord is using her there in a great way to win souls and disciple Christians. My previous assistant, Roy Arteta, and his family have a wonderful work in Nepal. Our church now supports 36 missionaries. We are especially burdened for souls in Southeast Asia/Indochina, as doors continue to open for Filipino Missionaries. Please pray for the great harvest that is at our doorstep!
Thank you with all our hearts for your sacrifice to keep us in this tremendous white harvest field.
Yours for souls,
Courtney & Ester Godsoe
