Over eight years ago, a Romanian family awaited our arrival in Milan and then immediately joined us in soul winning. Bro. Stoica and his family were such a blessing to us in so many ways. Besides fellowship with likeminded brethren, Bro. Stoica provided accompaniment to our hymn singing, while his wife would teach Sunday school to the children. However, within three years, he had lost his job, and the family had moved to Southern Italy before moving back to Romania. Since that time, we have been praying for musicians, Sunday School teachers, and soul winners.
For the time being, God has provided an answer to all of those prayers:
1. For about a year now, a young Chinese lady named Yiwei has been playing the piano for our church services. She is very talented and manages to overcome my poor song-leading skills. (This is not your fault, Bro. Cuozzo; your class was excellent!)
2. Also, for over a year now, we have had four Sunday school teachers in our church: three ladies and one man. They each take a turn to teach the kids.
3. Recently, a veteran missionary named Larry Pieri has been traveling about two hours one way, usually one day a week, to spend the day soul winning with me. Bro. Pieri is a veteran missionary who has so many varied life experiences and knows enough of several languages to create conversation and witness to a wide range of people. Everywhere he goes, the Gospel is preached. He is such a great encourager, teacher, and friend. Another man, Nicolas, who is from Peru and attends our church, has been an avid witness as well. He participates with soul winning for several hours just about every week. He has experience working with college students and a Prison Ministry in Peru. He loves the Lord and loves sharing the Gospel. Also, because of his ability to speak Spanish fluently, he is able to immediately create conversation and witness to the Hispanic community of Milan.
Please pray for our piano player Yiwei, as her wedding is soon approaching. Pray for Bro. Pieri as he follows God’s will and possibly moves away from Italy after his rent contract expires soon. Also, pray for our upcoming church anniversary on February 2.
