The second week of June, I traveled to Thailand for a soul-winning conference at the First Baptist Church of Nawong in Bangkok. FBMI missionary Eddie Arold was a wonderful host, and the meeting was a tremendous challenge to the pastors attending from Asia and India. During the conference I was able to meet many new national church planters, and AWBM is now partnering with three fine Laotian pastors. I preached in three different churches that week, but the highlight of my time there was being able to lead a Thai man to Christ during FBC’s Saturday soul winning.
Recently we had an opportunity to speak at an anniversary service for a fine young man here in General Santos and to travel to Manila to preach for our good friend Gilbert Toquero and LaLoma Baptist Church. I will be returning to LaLoma in December for a Missions-Emphasis Sunday. While in Manila we also got to celebrate Brianna’s tenth birthday. It is hard to believe that she was born that long ago here in the Philippines.
This coming week Kay, Bri, and I will be in a mission conference in Cebu. In the next couple of weeks, I will be introducing the Teaching All Nations program to two churches locally and begin teaching a class in the Mt. Calvary Baptist College here in General Santos. We have also just arranged shipment of some Bibles to help in the ministries of a number churches on the island of Negros. There is much need for good, sound, doctrinal teaching and printed materials here and throughout Asia.
We have set a date of January 18-24, 2016, for our annual AWBM Conference in Bacolod and the hosting of a group from Greater Vision Baptist Church, Owensboro, Kentucky. Please pray about trips we are also planning to Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia in February and Doha, Qatar, in either March or April of next year, as funds allow.
