I am happy to report that following my recent heart attack, we were able to travel to Davao City for an angiogram, and on August 2, I had a stent placed in my heart. With some help with weight loss, more consistent exercise, a better diet, and my wonderful wife as my nurse, I am feeling great. Thank you for your concern and prayers.
I have recently received word from Thaung Lian that the funds have been raised to complete the Bible college in Burma. It is now in the final stages of being constructed. I want to give a big “thank you” to those of you who have helped give for this project over the past three years. Please pray for this wonderful Burmese church planter as he trains national pastors to reach this needy Buddhist country.
August 25-26, I was able to present Teaching All Nations and the Foundations of My Faith discipleship lessons to over 300 pastors here in Gen San. We also introduced the discipleship lessons in the Cebuano dialect, which were excitedly received by scores of the pastors. We are currently working on translating them into the national language of Tagalog also.
This month we have been able to start a new Bible college in Toril, Davao City, and also present the TAN materials to a small group of pastors with remote mountain churches. They are all very excited to participate, and I expect that after following up with them, a couple of men will start colleges also. Currently over 100 pastors are requesting the printed discipleship lessons, and we are happy to get these printed and sent or delivered to them. Please pray that God will continue to supply the resources to get the printing completed.
In the month of October, Kay and I will celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. I can’t tell you how much she has meant to me as we labor together here. We will also be preaching in a couple of churches, helping them to celebrate their church anniversaries. Please pray that we can be a help and a blessing to them.
