Thank you for your prayers and support!
As I work in the ministry here in Ghana, I am reminded of the instruction Paul gave to Timothy, “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” I believe one of the main tasks I have as a missionary is to commit the truth that I have received to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. In this update, I want to introduce you to some of the men I am working to train.
Thomas Moah
In 2012, we started a church in the village of Barekuma. After several months, a man named Thomas Moah joined our church. He was very faithful and expressed a desire to serve the Lord with his life.
He began attending our Bible college in the months he was able to come (he makes his living through farming). He has not yet been able to graduate from our Bible college, but he is growing and faithfully serving the Lord. He and his wife are training their children in the fear of the Lord. Charity, his oldest daughter, currently teaches our children’s Sunday school class.
Bro. Thomas teaches an adult Sunday school class and preaches each Sunday morning. He is also a faithful soul winner. On February 25, he baptized 9 converts; 5 of those who got baptized were people he led to Christ through personal soul winning. He also preached recently at a crusade we held in Barekuma. I was so thrilled to hear him give the Gospel so clearly! It is such a blessing to have a part in training him!
Faithful Men Training Program
A few months ago, Pastor Speer asked me to take on a new responsibility. He asked me to lead our single men’s training program. The men in this program live on our church property, are students at our Bible college, and are involved in the ministries of our church.
In the four years that the men are in this program, they will receive intensive training in the English language, soul winning, discipleship, leading others, preaching, and teaching.
This is not just a teaching program; it is a full-time, on-the-job training program. We currently have 7 men in our “Faithful Men” program. The growth and progress of these young men is such an encouragement. I consider it a great honor to serve in this capacity. I believe this is what the ministry is all about. We are currently looking to add men to our program. Please pray that God will provide the finances needed to do so. Also, please pray that God will continue to bless the men we are training and that He will expand our influence so that we can train more men to serve Him.
God bless,
Charles, Lindsey, and Josiah Osgood
