Recently, the Lord reminded me of the importance of our ministry on deputation at a church in Texas. In the evening service, this church was having a time where the church members shared testimonies of God’s goodness and praised the Lord. As different church members praised the Lord, one teenager raised his hand and said, “I’m thankful for the missionary guy that came today.” I’m grateful that we get the chance to represent the work of missions to churches across the country, show the great need for the Gospel in Nigeria, and be that reminder of those lost souls beyond our borders. Please pray with us as we continue this work while traveling from the West Coast back towards the Midwest.
One of our biggest preparations for moving to Nigeria has taken place. We had been planning to ship a crate ahead of us with the bulk of our belongings and household items that we could not get in Nigeria. So in early July, we took a week, and all three of us flew back to Maine to ship “The Crate.” The first step was buying the materials and building the crate ourselves since we needed a custom size. I am not very experienced in building things like this, so I was very blessed to have my father-in-law and brother-in-law help out. Of course, by “help out,” I mean they basically built the whole thing.😊 When all was said and done, we had a crate that was 6 feet long and over 4 feet wide and tall. We praise the Lord that we could get the crate built, filled, and sent to our shipping company. Unfortunately, it ended up costing about three times more than we expected to ship our crate. Still, we are grateful that it is ready to be sent to Nigeria and, Lord willing, should be there when we arrive in December.
Would you please pray for us as we continue to make the many preparations for moving to Nigeria? There are many details involved in moving our family a few thousand miles to a different continent. There are medical preparations, visa paperwork, working with airlines, etc. Believe it or not, we are glad to do these things because it means we are that much closer to getting to our field. All these preparations require a lot of attention to detail, time, and money to get everything done and sorted properly. Please pray with us that God will give us wisdom and guidance as we navigate all these preparations.
That all the world may know,
