Even on furlough, we are so grateful that God is still working in Nigeria. For a long time, we’ve been working and praying towards holding regional Ladies’ Conferences for those ladies who cannot travel all the way to the capital for the Ladies’ Conference at our church. That first regional conference was held in the city of Ibadan. Even though Emily wasn’t able to be there in person, God really blessed. There were 130 women registered, and 2 ladies even got saved. We heard wonderful reports from the conference, and the ladies were already asking when we can hold a conference there again.
Thank you to all of you who have been praying for our most recent pregnancy. When we arrived in the U.S., we had to wait until we could see a doctor and get examined more thoroughly. When we did see a doctor, he basically said, “We’ll have to wait and see.” In our most recent appointment and ultrasound, they could not find any trace of the issue that was there previously. When we saw the ultrasound, it was hard to believe that we were looking at the same thing as back in May. The doctors still want to keep a close eye on Emily, but God has done an amazing thing!
Because Emily and the coming baby are doing well, I will be able to head back to Nigeria in early August for a two-week trip. I’ll be helping to get the Bible college semester off the ground and working to forward church plants, as well as tying up other loose ends, since we left so quickly. Please pray as I prepare for this quick trip; pray that it will be very productive and fruitful.
Work is continuing to move forward with church plants. Please pray, as we have one Bible college graduate surveying a new area this month. Also, the church that has been started in Adamawa, Harvest Baptist Church, is looking for land on which to build a church building.
That all the world may know,
Caleb Christiansen
