What an incredible time it was celebrating our church’s 17th Anniversary! The house was packed with the largest attendance ever recorded at Truth Baptist Church–nearly 400! There were dozens of visitors, including 3 Emily personally invited from a new bus route area. One of them found Emily during church and gave her a big hug saying, “See, I came!” There were people being led to the Lord all over the property, and several followed the Lord in baptism. It was such a wonderful Sunday, full of encouragements for how God has worked in the past, continues to work, and will be faithful to work.
Emily’s Sunday school class has been booming recently. She teaches 2- to 8-year-olds and averages 45 on a Sunday morning. We are working to split the class as we train Sunday school teachers. It has been so great to see children returning regularly and growing. Emily has been taking time recently to explain about the different countries around the world in need of the Gospel. There have even been some telling Emily that they believe God wants them to be missionaries. Please pray for these precious little ones as they continue to grow and that this desire to serve the Lord will grow as well.
We had the wonderful opportunity to travel as a family to a city four hours south of us. I was able to help a church with revival services, start a Bible-training institute, and preach their 2nd Anniversary Sunday. It was a full 5 days, but God truly blessed our efforts. Across all the activities of the week, there were over 20 people saved, 10 first-time visitors in the services, and around 20 people joining the Bible institute. I was personally encouraged by so many joining the institute to be trained. Please pray that God will use this institute and that God would even raise pastors from them. Please pray for Praise and Glory Baptist Church and the Pastor Moses Nyiku family as they serve in Makurdi, Nigeria. They are a young church, but they are already doing much for the Lord.
With the end of May comes the end of our Bible college school year. I had the joy of sitting with the 8 students who were completing their studies. It was encouraging to talk with them about what God had taught them through their time in Bible college, as well as about what God is leading them to do. Please pray for these men especially, as several of them are hoping to start churches shortly.
The things that God has used us to do, which you just read about in this prayer letter, are because you give and because you pray. It is always before our minds and hearts that God, in large part, uses us and protects us because of your prayers. Thank you so much for caring about missions and for caring about us.
That all the world may know,
Caleb Christiansen
