Bob and Jacqueline Bowen Prayer Letter: I Speak This to Your ShameWe started off the month with preaching the Wednesday night service for our good friend, Pastor Danny Dodson, at Central Baptist Church in Center, Texas. It was such a blessing to be able to report BEST Missions’ progress on our latest Bible for a country that has never had a copy of the Word of God.

“Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.”
(I Corinthians 15:34)

What in the world would you do if you did not have a copy of God’s Word? Over half the world does not have a whole Bible. Shame on us who do have a copy of God’s Word for not giving the Word of God to those who do not have a Bible.

On Sunday, July 21, I went to Heritage Baptist Church, Fort Smith, Arkansas. We had preaching all day long. Pastor Joe Taylor has been supporting me for a long time. What a blessing he and his family have been to me.

Daniel Woods, a faithful friend, has been driving me to meetings for the past two months. I’ve known Daniel (“Woody”) since he was a teenager in Missouri. He has been faithful to the Lord and to me for many years. Thank you, Bro. Woods, for your loyalty to me and to the Lord.

About the only service I can still do is preach and raise funds for Bibles. I praise the Lord for the ability to provide people with a copy of God’s Word. BEST Missions has sent 44 containers overseas of Bibles, John & Romans, and Gospel tracts. We have also been printing Bibles in Thailand since 2016.

The first of the month found me at Texas Baptist Church San Antonio, Texas. Pastor Keith Bell was one of my students at Texas Baptist College many years ago. He has been faithfully supporting me for many years. He has been faithful to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and is doing a great work.

I was able to preach at the monthly East Texas Baptist Fellowship at Twin City Baptist Temple in Wake Village, Texas. We were allowed to report on the newest Bible that BEST Missions has printed in Southeast Asia.

RG, the son of Pastor Bob Gray II, passed away in his sleep on August 16. Bro. Bob had already asked Missionary Curtis Hall to be there on the 18th, for the evening service, so that meant that we could spend a little time with Bro. Hall and his dear wife. What a blessing they have been to BEST Missions. Bro. Hall was also able to preach for Pastor Gray on Sunday night.

In preparation for “later years,” we sold our house in Longview, Texas, so that means we have moved. We are in the process of building a small house out in the country. My son-in-law is the contractor and overseeing everything.

Into all the world,

Bob Bowen
