Once again, we can praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy to us as we continue to serve Him here in Northern Tasmania. For several weeks now, we have had the privilege of having a Bible study with some of the seasonal workers from Vanuatu. As many as nine have attended at one time, along with three other members of our church. With strawberry season coming to an end, several workers have already returned home, and the remaining ones will be leaving in the next few weeks. With shorter work days, we hope to see some of them attend the Thursday night Bible study. We are so thankful for this outreach opportunity and are praying we will be able to continue when the workers return this October/November. Some have requested our contact information to keep in touch while they are away.
Coastline Independent Baptist Church has been meeting in the pastor’s home for a few weeks. We have been praying and looking diligently for a suitable property to buy or lease, but there are very few options available in Devonport right now. We have a “packed house” on Sundays, so we anticipate the Lord will lead us to the right location soon.
It is exciting to see the Lord working in the church family and growing the church. What a blessing to see young couples continuing to be faithful to soul winning, bringing their babies and young children to serve the Lord as a family. Cassandra has started coming on Thursday nights. We pick her up early and have a Bible study with her before church. A mother and her adult son have recently begun attending church again, and the mother and uncle of one of our ladies are attending faithfully. Nathan, a married man with a young son, is praying about a missions trip to Vanuatu in a few months. He is a builder, and his skills can be greatly used to help one of our missionaries there. He has been leading singing for the Bible study with the Vanuatu workers and is very involved in the work of the church.
Please continue to pray for the Lord’s leading to the right property for the church, for the Lord to continue to work in the lives of the church family, and for more souls to be saved. We appreciate continued prayer for Laura’s health. She generally feels well and is continuing to treat the cancer with natural protocols.
We love and pray for your co-labor in seeking to make a difference to the lost of this world also. Thank you again for believing in us in your prayer and monetary support.
All for His glory,
Bro. Andrew Steers
